Welcome to the website of the Institute of Computer Science at TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

Nowadays, it is impossible to imagine everyday life without computer science. The progressive digitalisation of all areas of life - whether at home, at work or on the move - has increased more and more in recent decades and underlines the social, scientific and economic relevance of computer science with its diverse perspectives. Advancing the field of computer science and preparing young scientists for the challenges of computer science is the task of our Institute of Computer Science. To this end, we offer our own degree programmes (Bachelor of Applied Computer Science, Master of Applied Computer Science, Diploma in Robotics) and also provide basic computer science education for all faculties with our courses.

In research, the professorships and working groups deal with topics such as databases, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, multimedia, robotics, smart systems, software technology, ubiquitous computing and virtual reality.
