SAMSax - Sustainable Additive Manufacturing in Saxony
The aim of the SAMSax real-world laboratory is to create low-threshold access to expertise and infrastructure for Saxon SMEs in the field of holistically networked digital manufacturing in order to enable the testing of new business models and applications. To this end, it involves various previously divergent SME partner groups as well as an extensive network of local authorities and social stakeholders. It generates added value and future viability by combining digital technologies, additive manufacturing technologies and materials produced sustainably and regionally from residual materials. It addresses critical issues of digitalisation, the circular economy and climate change and creates impetus for attractive, future-proof work. The overarching goal of the project is to establish the SAMSax real-world laboratory for the future testing of regional value creation from locally available, renewable resources (ideally residual material) for additive and digital manufacturing technologies in conjunction with the development of a digital knowledge base and networking opportunities in order to simultaneously promote the circular economy and regional economic growth.
Tasks of the IMKF
- Analysing and selecting suitable additive manufacturing processes and setting up the laboratory
- Developing parameters for the additive manufacturing of possible residual materials and evaluating the achievable properties in the component
- . in the component
- Testing and implementation of an application case with processed residual materials
