Every two years, the doctoral students at TU Bergakademie Freiberg decide who they would like to be represented by. Up to 9 members are elected to represent the interests of the doctoral students.

What exactly does it mean to be a member of the ProRat?

The ProRat represents the specific interests of doctoral candidates both inside and outside the university. Thematically, this generally includes university policy, committee work, internationalisation efforts, external networking and supporting other doctoral candidates in difficult situations as a contact person. Take the opportunity to make a difference - there are plenty of opportunities!

Who can stand for election?

Anybody who is an accepted doctoral candidate at TUBAF according to Section 14 (1) of the university's basic regulations can stand for election.

Who is eligible to vote?

All accepted doctoral students are also eligible to vote in accordance with Section 14 (1).

What do I have to do to stand for election?

To stand as a candidate, all you have to do is fill out a form and send it to our email address. All candidates will then be published on our website and can be voted for on election day.

Where can I ask further questions about the work of the ProRat/about standing for election?

In principle, you can always send us questions via our email address, which we will answer as quickly as possible.
