The Program
The program, initiated by the Saxon Ministry of Science, Culture and Tourism and administered by TU Bergakademie Freiberg, offers funding for studies in Saxony, a state in Germany. Financial support gives students the opportunity to take part in mobility programs between an Uzbek or Mongolian university and a university or a university of applied sciences in Saxony.
Eligible Stays
1 – 12 months
- Semester stays of students at one of the Saxon universities or universities of applied sciences
- Research stays to write a thesis (not tied to semester schedules) at one of the Saxon universities or universities of applied sciences
- Specialist courses (e.g. summer schools) at one of the Saxon universities or universities of applied sciences
- ​​Language courses at at one of the Saxon universities or universities of applied sciences (at least 25 hours per week)
All students from the accredited Uzbek and Mongolian universities can apply. The program is interdisciplinary. Students can apply from their first semester onwards. A prerequisite for selection is an excellent academic record. Please note that only exchange students can apply for the funding.

The program does not offer exchange places, only funding!
Long-term stays (1-12 months)
- €992 monthly funding
- Country-specific travel allowance (€1275 for the Republic of Uzbekistan, €1575 for Mongolia)
Short-term stays (5-30 days)
- Days 1-14: €79 / day
- Days 15-30: €56 / day
- Country-specific travel allowance (€1,275 for the Republic of Uzbekistan, €1,575 for Mongolia)
The funding is paid out monthly to the bank account number provided. Your funding can only be paid out after you have submitted the confirmation of arrival signed and stamped by the receiving institution.
Funding in the home country is not possible!
An application is possible as soon as you have applied to a Saxon university and have been accepted. Application documents should be submitted to the International Office of TU Bergakademie Freiberg or uploaded to Mobility Online at least 2 months before the start of your studies.

- Tabular CV
- Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages, German or English)
- Nomination by the home university
- Good language skills (German at least B1, English at least B2). The requirements of the
- host university in Saxony must be taken into account.
- Academic record/grade overview, bachelor's or intermediate diploma certificate if available
- Proof of admission from the partner university (e.g. Letter of Acceptance)
- Learning Agreement
To be submitted during and after the mobility abroad:
- Confirmation of arrival
- Confirmation of attendance
- Experience report
- Funding agreement
