On 25 and 26 June 2025, the two-day course "Experience 3D printing" took place at our school in cooperation with the TU Bergakademie Freiberg - an exciting project in which 15 pupils from years 8 to 11 were able to immerse themselves in the world of additive manufacturing.
This project was made possible thanks to the generous support of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Christos G. Aneziris, professor at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and former graduate of our school. Not only did he provide us with the Bambu Lab P1S Combo 3D printer model as part of a loan agreement - which provides for such labs to be held annually - but he also made it possible for two of his doctoral students to provide technical support: Benjamin Bock Seefeld and Serhii Yaroshevskyi. The two supervised the lab with great commitment and clearly explained every step of the process. The organisational preparation and on-site support was provided by Ms Grigoriadou.
In the course, the participants first received a theoretical introduction to the various additive manufacturing processes, suitable materials and typical areas of application. They then designed their own components using the CAD programme "AutoDesk Fusion 360", prepared them for printing in "Bambu Lab Studio" and learned how to select the right printing parameters. Finally, they printed using the Bambu Lab P1S - a high-performance printer based on the fused deposition modelling method. At the end, the students were proud to take their self-designed and manufactured objects home with them.
A heartfelt thank you to Prof Aneziris as well as to Benjamin and Serhii - for their time, support and the enthusiasm with which they enriched our student lab!
