
AG Nanosensorics
The Nanosensorics working group at the INBM develops novel chemical sensors based on nanoscale materials by immobilising them on transducers with different active principles. The research is based on three pillars:
- The production of our own or a selection of commercially available transducers
- The development of new chemosensory active materials and the immobilisation of these on suitable transducer surfaces
- The networking of sensors for the generation of cyber-physical and cyber-chemical systems

Research and competences
Projects
In a variety of application fields, such as medical diagnostics, environmental analysis or energy technology, the need for new sensor and data acquisition system solutions to combine different data sources is increasing against the backdrop of digital transformation. The HELIOS programme therefore aims to research innovative, highly compact sensor solutions. The aim is to test the possibility of integrating hardware and software sensor concepts on a chip, as well as the use of artificial intelligence methods. By developing concepts for more powerful and more cost-effective sensors, the aim is to enable innovations in existing fields of application on the one hand and to open up new fields of application on the other.

Dr Seyed Mohammad Mahdi Dadfar
My name is Mahdi Dadfar, and I am the group leader of the Nanosensor Group at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, within the Institute of Nanoscale and Biobased Materials. I received my Ph.D. in 2019 from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Institute of Nanotechnology (INT). Following my doctoral studies, I completed my first postdoctoral position at the Institute of Physics, Biophysics, RWTH Aachen, in collaboration with the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science. I then continued with a second postdoctoral position at the University of Stuttgart.
My research focuses on surface chemistry, polymer science, sensors, and nanotechnology.
