The L5/12 muffle furnace from Nabertherm is a compact device for laboratory applications where temperatures of up to 1200 °C are required. With a usable chamber volume of 5 litres, the furnace is suitable for a wide range of applications in research, development and quality assurance, especially for smaller sample quantities and thermal treatments in the low to medium temperature range.
The oven is heated via two ceramic heating plates with integrated heating wire, which are arranged on both sides of the oven chamber. This arrangement ensures an even temperature distribution with a temperature uniformity of ±5 K in the working chamber. The heating plates are designed so that they can be easily replaced if necessary, which reduces maintenance costs and increases operational reliability.
For temperature measurement, the oven is equipped with a type S thermocouple, which is suitable for use up to 1200 °C and provides reliable measurement results. The temperature is controlled via the B170 controller, which enables the programming and realisation of complex temperature curves. This allows precise customisation to specific process requirements and ensures reproducible results.
The housing of the L5/12 is made of double-walled stainless steel textured sheet metal and is rear-ventilated. This design ensures low external temperatures during operation and also increases the mechanical stability of the appliance. The hinged door is equipped with an adjustable supply air opening, which allows targeted control of the air exchange inside the stove. An additional exhaust air opening at the rear of the oven supports the removal of process gases.
