BHT-Vortrag Prof. Krause

As part of the 76th BHT at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the colloquium "Potential of the geological underground for Germany's energy security after the fossil age" took place under the direction of Prof. Amro. A special topic was the storage of hydrogen in caverns and pore storage facilities. In this context, Prof. Krause presented the current status of the Bad Lauchstädt Energy Park project. An important element of the project is the conversion of a natural gas cavern to hydrogen. The lighthouse project is trend-setting for the future hydrogen economy and the East German anchor point for the hydrogen core network. The hydrogen topics were discussed intensively by the technical experts, as energy storage in the terawatt-hour range represents the greatest challenge for the energy transition.
