Digital processes and big data are increasing the need for analysis and decision-making methods based on huge amounts of data. The new four-semester Master's degree programme "Data Literacy and Business Analytics" (German-tought) at TU Bergakademie Freiberg trains experts who can combine business administration expertise with data-driven analysis methods. The new Master's course will start in the winter semester 2025/26; prospective students with a Bachelor's degree in business administration or economics can apply by 15 September.

Students acquire in-depth knowledge of data-based decision support - from the collection and processing of large amounts of data to the analysis, interpretation and implementation of data-driven solutions in business and administration. In project modules and case studies, students work on real challenges from business and society.

What prospective students should bring

If you want to get to the bottom of data and understand the relationships between data collection, integration and algorithmic evaluation, you already have the most important prerequisites for the new degree programme. The course is aimed at anyone with a Bachelor's degree in business or economics who wants to help shape data-based support processes in organisations in the future. Basic knowledge of statistics and database programming is a prerequisite.

Attractive employment opportunities in a growing professional field

Graduates of the new Master's degree course in Data Literacy and Business Analytics are able to analyse data-driven issues from an interdisciplinary perspective, reflect critically on them and translate them into sustainable decision-making processes for companies. Future managers will find themselves in a growing professional field for business intelligence / data analytics, data-driven marketing and customer analytics, public sector data science, data governance and ethical data policy as well as controlling and strategic corporate planning.
