At its most recent meeting, the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Mechanical, Process and Energy Engineering at TU Bergakademie Freiberg elected Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Andreas Bräuer as Dean and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Henning Zeidler as Vice Dean.
This means that both are starting their second term of office and will lead the faculty for a further three years. Their re-election will allow continuity in what was already started during the previous shortened term of office. Apart from day-to-day business, this essentially includes:
- implementing the "Cyber Physical Systems" profiling initiative, with which the faculty is setting new accents in research and teaching
- supporting the construction of the new large technical hall and the restoration of the equally large Kegel-Rammler building
- accrediting and certifying our degree programmes
- and promoting our attractive degree programmes.
"We are delighted with the trust placed in us by the Faculty Council and see it as an incentive to continue on our chosen path together with our colleagues, students and employees," said Prof Bräuer after the election on 8 April 2025.
The new term of office begins on 1 May 2025 and runs until 2028.
