Since December 2023, TU Bergakademie Freiberg has been participating in the joint project . In this project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, our university - along with a total of 14 other selected universities - is supported by netzwerk n, the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development and the University of Vechta. The funding consists of training, advice and network exchange.
The aim of the project is to reduce the university's greenhouse gas emissions by 10%, to develop a climate protection concept as part of a long-term, institution-wide approach and to implement this step by step. One of the central elements in the sustainability transformation process is the empowerment of students. This is achieved in particular through their involvement in the so-called "ZKH task force", which continuously supports and promotes the project at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The task force brings together all status groups at the university.

The project is currently in the process of developing measures. To this end, the task force has identified measures that were mentioned during the kick-off event and the online survey as well as those resulting from the SWOT analysis. This first draft of draft measures was supplemented using the idea box and individual discussions with the departments concerned and is still to be agreed with the Rectorate. A measures workshop is planned for 4 July 2025 in Freiberg, in which every university member can participate. At the workshop, we will present key results and work with you to determine which measures should be implemented and included in the climate protection concept. The zkh team will moderate the event using interactive methods. If you are interested in taking part, please register by 18 June 2025 at zkh-tubaf [at] tu-freiberg [dot] de (zkh-tubaf[at]tu-freiberg[dot]de). We look forward to the joint process!
