The remote maintenance software RustDesk enables remote access between different computers. Platform-independent communication between operating systems such as Windows, Linux and macOS is possible. The software offers functions such as screen sharing and mouse and keyboard control.
RustDesk can be used without installation, simply download the software and start it directly. Connections can be established either directly from client-to-client or via a TUBAF server.
Quick start for remote maintenance

- Download the .
- Start RustDesk - no installation is required to start it.
- Tell the IT Service Desk the address number and one-time password displayed.

Note on the extended use of RustDesk (beyond communication with the service desk):
If you want to use RustDesk outside of remote maintenance and communication with the service desk, you have the option of setting up either a client-client connection or a client-server connection.
For the transmission of particularly sensitive content, we recommend using our own RustDesk TUBAF server. The required connection key and the config string are available on request from the IT Service Desk.

Customer benefits
If IT problems cannot be solved via the ticket system or by telephone alone, remote maintenance with RustDesk is a helpful addition. Remote access allows the IT service desk to access the affected computer directly in the presence of the person seeking help. This makes it easier to identify errors and resolve problems quickly. Remote access is a time-saving solution, especially for very individual problems, without the need for an on-site appointment.
